Key Guy Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 State GOP and Dem party sources tell the Des Moines Register that they'll hold the '12 presidential caucuses on a Saturday afternoon, an effort to draw more people to the quadrennial event. Usually, the first event of the nominating calendar is held on a weekday evening, and many people have work and family responsibilities that prevent them from participating. A possible drawback in setting Saturday for the caucuses: Jewish voters who observe the Sabbath. The DMR reports that a date will be set over the next week. Quote
