Health Bill Would Increase Employer-Based Coverage

A government agency released a letter Sunday explaining that, contrary to Republican criticisms, the House Democrats' proposed health care legislation would increase the number of citizens who receive health insurance through their employers.

The results of the Congressional Budget Office's preliminary analysis were detailed in a letter to Rep. Dave Camp, the ranking Republican of the House Ways and Means Committee, after Republicans sought additional information about about the effects the bill would have on private versus public insurance enrollment, the effects on private-sector premiums, and other issues.

Conservatives have charged that the creation of a government-sponsored health insurance option, or "public plan," would result in many Americans losing their current, employer-based coverage. The CBO's analysis concludes that by 2016, about 9 million people who would otherwise have had employer-based coverage would not be enrolled in an employment-based plan under the House plan. However, about 12 million people who currently are not offered employer-based coverage would receive it, resulting in a net increase of 3 million Americans with employer-provided care.

My brother has a steel erection company,pays in excess of 35,000.00 per month for all medical benefits for his employess.

If this goes into effect he can make a choice. Being idiot enough to continue the medical benefits for his employee's or scratch that and pay a penalty of 8% of 35,000.00.

Obama keeps making this promise. It is not true.Businesses are not going to pay many thousands when they can pay only 8% on that many thousands.

With the budget cuts many conferences are making they might be delighted to learn they will have to pay only 8%

I don't mind telling you that it would be nice if those like yourself think it a great idea that you could and leave the governments mitts off my health care.

Private companies cannot compete with government run. Private industry has to make money. Government industry takes more from citizens. Who do you suppose will win out?

If you are insured at the time this goes into effect,you can keep your insurance,That much is true. If your coverage in anyway changes,or you would like to go with another company,no can do. From then on you are under the government.

Do you have elderly parents or family members receiving medicare? They won't quite be put on an ice berg like the Eskimo's did with their elderly,but it is not good.

Your primary care physician will get bundled payments. He will get so much "per head". The more frequently he needs to see them or send them to a specialist,he gets less per head.

That sounds like a grand plan.
