Joe_in_RP Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 This has been known for some time but many are unaware so I will post it. In America (and probably other places) people no longer have privacy. The Government can listen to everything you say. Are you taking your cell phone into the bedroom at night? This is a violation of the Fourth Amendment but no one seems to care. It has been reported that the government has advanced programs to convert voice to text and store it in a computer. Those conversations can then be computer analyzed using pattern recognition software. Quote
Kountzer Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Wow. I didn't know that. I haven't said anything controversial or anything, but still. I don't like big brother having that much information. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Neil D Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Of course "big Brother" can hear what you say....FoxNews, this reliable news agency, has reported it....And we all know how reliable this agency is......right????? Joe_in_RP Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 Neil, just put this in google: "FBI cell phones" Over 2 million hits. Pick your favorite news agency. This is from 2004: You've probably heard about Echelon, the vast listening system run by the US, UK, Canada and Australia that scans the world's voice traffic looking for key words and phrases. Aside from using the system for industrial espionage and bypassing international and national laws to listen in on people, it is also used to listen out for people like Osama bin Laden and assorted terrorists in the hope of preventing attacks. All this is out in the relative open thanks to investigative journalists and a European Commission report into the system, concerned and annoyed that the Brits and Yanks has got there first. It works like this: The calls are recorded by geo-stationary spy satellites and listening stations, such as the UK's Menwith Hill, which combine satellite-intercepted calls and trunk landline intercepts and forward them on to centres, such as the US' Fort Meade, where supercomputers work on the recordings in real time. http://www.techworld.com/storage/news/index.cfm?newsid=2430 So they have the technology to listen to 100% of the cell phones in America and filter the results through computers. Neil D Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 When you move from faith to faith, Joe....then I will listen to you...but as it is, you are expounding a faith that moves from fear to fear...I choose to listen to God, the Source of trust. It is His responsibility to move me in your direction....And He just told me that your faith is not reliable... Amelia Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Federal Source to ABC News: We Know Who You're Calling May 15, 2006 ABC News A senior federal law enforcement official tells ABC News the government is tracking the phone numbers we (Brian Ross and Richard Esposito) call in an effort to root out confidential sources. "It's time for you to get some new cell phones, quick," the source told us in an in-person conversation. ABC News does not know how the government determined who we are calling, or whether our phone records were provided to the government as part of the recently-disclosed NSA collection of domestic phone calls. Other sources have told us that phone calls and contacts by reporters for ABC News, along with the New York Times and the Washington Post, are being examined as part of a widespread CIA leak investigation. One former official was asked to sign a document stating he was not a confidential source for New York Times reporter James Risen. Our reports on the CIA's secret prisons in Romania and Poland were known to have upset CIA officials. The CIA asked for an FBI investigation of leaks of classified information following those reports. People questioned by the FBI about leaks of intelligence information say the CIA was also disturbed by ABC News reports that revealed the use of CIA predator missiles inside Pakistan. Under Bush Administration guidelines, it is not considered illegal for the government to keep track of numbers dialed by phone customers. The official who warned ABC News said there was no indication our phones were being tapped so the content of the conversation could be recorded. A pattern of phone calls from a reporter, however, could provide valuable clues for leak investigators. Amelia Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Can You Hear Me Now? December 05, 2006 ABC News Cell phone users, beware. The FBI can listen to everything you say, even when the cell phone is turned off. A recent court ruling in a case against the Genovese crime family revealed that the FBI has the ability from a remote location to activate a cell phone and turn its microphone into a listening device that transmits to an FBI listening post, a method known as a "roving bug." Experts say the only way to defeat it is to remove the cell phone battery. "The FBI can access cell phones and modify them remotely without ever having to physically handle them," James Atkinson, a counterintelligence security consultant, told ABC News. "Any recently manufactured cell phone has a built-in tracking device, which can allow eavesdroppers to pinpoint someone's location to within just a few feet," he added. According to the recent court ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, "The device functioned whether the phone was powered on or off, intercepting conversations within its range wherever it happened to be." http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/12/can_you_hear_me.html Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
Joe_in_RP Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 Neil God did not give us the spirit of fear. There is no reason to be afraid, unless we have neglected our relationship with the Lord. As I have said before, my hope, desire is that people will turn off those deception boxes(TV's) and turn on their bibles. Bibles are now even available in dramatized cd verion so you can even listen in the car. You can listen at home. You can even buy them loaded on Ipods. Even EGW is available on Ipod. There is no excuse for not studying. Jesus is coming. Ready or not Jesus is coming. http://www.zazzle.com/tv_deception_tshirt-235400315346862909 Quote
Members phkrause Posted August 2, 2009 Members Posted August 2, 2009 Nice post Joe, I think I've heard about this during the Bush Admin., but I think its been going on for awhile, obviously. Personally I don't care, I guess a better word would be "fear", I have nothing to hide. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Members phkrause Posted August 2, 2009 Members Posted August 2, 2009 Kind of reminds me of this movie with Jim Carey, can't think of the name right now. Pretty crazy stuff. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
