CGMedley Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Adventist Review associate editor Roy Adams says Adventist are missing out on powerful spiritual blessing if we don't know our hymns. Check out his articles "Singing Our Songs" in this week's issue. http://www.adventistreview.org/issue.php?issue=2009-1523&page=18 Quote
aldona Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 That's a really good article. I think I'll circulate it among our choir/music ministry people. Our church is becoming well known (among the local churches) for singing the "old hymns" with energy and enthusiasm, as well as a range of more modern songs. One thing I would add: if you explore older SDA hymnals, and hymnals from other denominations (bearing in mind doctrinal differences, of course), you will discover a wealth of beautiful songs. Whenever I have the opportunity of attending a different denomination's church (e.g. for a wedding or funeral), I love to check out their hymnal. aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
