Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted August 25, 2009 Administrators Posted August 25, 2009 Cool idea! I have long been a zealous advocate of bicycle helmets. They have saved me from brain damage, or worse, a number of times. My brain is still more or less intact thanks to a set of now cracked helmets that sacrificed themselves for me. (There is a sermon in there somewhere...) My helmet rule is - The degree of protection you put on your head is directly proportionate to the value of what you have in your head. So if you do not think you need to wear a helmet you apparently have [some Horribly Insignificant Thing] for brains. Tom Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Outta Here Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Good video!! My helmet rule: if your feet are wearing roller blades, roller skates, or ice skates, wear a helmet; if you are riding a scooter, a "razor", a skate board or a ripstick, wear a helmet; if you are unicycling, bicycling, tricycling, or soapbox-derbying, wear a helmet; if you are riding a motor-scooter, a motorcycle, an ATV, snowmobile or other off-the-road vehicle, wear a helmet; if you are rock-wall climbing, rock climbing, rappelling, or zip-lining, wear a helmet. Members phkrause Posted August 26, 2009 Members Posted August 26, 2009 Cool video Lazarus. I wonder what the crime rate is in denmark. And Tom, I'm one that doesn't care for helmets. I've knock what's left of my brain many times. I guess that's why there's nothing but wood in there. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators lazarus Posted August 27, 2009 Author Moderators Posted August 27, 2009 Cool video Lazarus. I wonder what the crime rate is in denmark. According to the INTERPOL data, for murder, the rate in 2000 was 4.03 for Denmark, 1.10 for Japan, and 5.51 for USA. For rape, the rate in 2000 was 9.32 for Denmark, compared with 1.78 for Japan and 32.05 for USA. For robbery, the rate in 2000 was 59.14 for Denmark, 4.08 for Japan, and 144.92 for USA. For aggravated assault, the rate in 2000 was 23.68 for Denmark, 23.78 for Japan, and 323.62 for USA. For burglary, the rate in 2000 was 1868.06 for Denmark, 233.60 for Japan, and 728.42 for USA. The rate of larceny for 2000 was 1224.71 for Denmark, 1401.26 for Japan, and 2475.27 for USA. The rate for motor vehicle theft in 2000 was 604.18 for Denmark, compared with 44.28 for Japan and 414.17 for USA. The rate for all index offenses combined was 3793.12 for Denmark, compared with 1709.88 for Japan and 4123.97 for USA. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Members phkrause Posted August 27, 2009 Members Posted August 27, 2009 Thanks for the info Lazarus. Very interesting stats. I know the video only shows these two officers. Do the police carry weapons there? I know a number of years ago I saw a stat about England, they mentioned that the police do not carry weapons just there billy clubs and the crime rate there was much less than here in the USA. I wonder if there is less secularism in other countries than here in the USA. Are people more religious in europe than here? I think I've read the opposite, but not sure. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
