Administrators Gail Posted August 28, 2009 Administrators Posted August 28, 2009 How likely are you to read something written by an author of another persuasion as you, whether be it different faith, political philosophy or lifestyle? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted August 29, 2009 Members Posted August 29, 2009 I have Gail, I've read a book autobiography of Rosey O'Donnell. I used to like her, but the more I see and hear her, the less I like her. But I did enjoy her book very much. I've read many non-adventist christian authors, like Max Lucado, Francis Schaeffer, Liz Curtis Higgs, Kathleen Norris, Philip Yancey, etc. I enjoy there books very much, but I'm always aware of the doctural difference's we have with them. But each one loves the Lord. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Guest Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 How likely are you to read something written by an author of another persuasion as you, whether be it different faith, political philosophy or lifestyle? Not much anymore. I used to read everything, but now there is too much truth and good things to be read to waste my time reading nonsense and garbage, that won't help me grow spiritually. I did just order a book by a non Adventist though. It's called: "Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ" it's by a french lady named Guyon I think. I read the first few pages of it at Amazon.com and liked it. I think it will be good. I used to like spy novels. Quote
