Moderators LynnDel Posted September 4, 2009 Moderators Posted September 4, 2009 I think I "need" a computer graphics tablet for photo editing and picture creation. I'm thinking Wacom Intuos4 at the moment; not sure what size I'd need, either. Does anyone have experience or recommendations? LD Quote LD
Neil D Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Too close..you're in my space....doggy bad breath! Oh, and Lynndell, good luck with finding that type of computer...Seems to me that what you really need is the softwear and not a new computer..... Guest Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 What he said. Software Photoshop 7 is a few years old now, so I don't know what the latest version is. But PS7 will do way more than I know how to do. It's amazing software. Not cheap either. It's what the pro's use. Quote

Members phkrause Posted September 4, 2009 Members Posted September 4, 2009 Yes that is a good one LynnDel. And depending on the type of editing you want to do I'd go for the larger one. I have a small one that came with my mac. Haven't really used that much. But I do believe that it works with Photoshop and any other editing program. Obviously the bigger the better, that would include the monitor and the Wacom tablet. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Guest Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I would love to have one of those. That, linked with Photoshop, I can only imagine the possibilities. Quote
Doug Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 They have a brand called Bamboo, I have seen the in the stores for under $100 Quote

Moderators LynnDel Posted September 17, 2009 Author Moderators Posted September 17, 2009 I've seen the Bamboo tablet, but when compared with the capabilities of the more expensive models, I'm sure I'd want to upgrade immediately, so am thinking maybe I should start out with what I would eventually want -- less expensive in the long run, right? fccool Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 LynnDel... why do you think you need it? It takes a while to get used to the work flow, and I don't think it saves me any time. With retouching, you have to click/drag a lot of sliders and lines and curve points. The hand drawing becomes somewhat counter productive. My advice would be ditching Wacom and instead getting something like Adobe Lightroom and shooting raw. Great pictures begin with great lens and great shooting format (camera). The editing software really to correct minor things. Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted September 19, 2009 Author Moderators Posted September 19, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion, fccool. I'll look into it, but my primary purpose will not be so much editing as creating, with perhaps a photo as a starting point (but changed so much you might not recognize it). I'm not creating artsy photos; I'm creating photo-inspired "art." The mouse is too clunky. LD Quote LD
