Administrators Gail Posted September 4, 2009 Administrators Posted September 4, 2009 I wonder if they mean large enough to wear away your pants legs from all the rubbing together... Then count me out. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted September 4, 2009 Members Posted September 4, 2009 I would imagine Gail, they mean in good shape, not just flabby. In the exercise arena the two best things are pushups and sqwats (sp). The pushups for your upper body for better heart health and sqwats for better lower legs which than helps the heart circulate the blood back to the heart. If you get 3ABN at all you should check out the show called Body & Spirit with Dick Nunez he really knows what he's talking about and helps people with exercising. And tells you exactly how good pushups and sqwats are for you. Since both help with the biggest muscles in your body. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
GreatLakesGramma Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Doing squats made my thighs smaller. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Members phkrause Posted September 4, 2009 Members Posted September 4, 2009 You mean leaner. It depends how many reps you do. If you what big muscles than you would squat with lots of weight, but if you are only interested in keeping in shape than you would just do squats with no or very little amount of weights. If we are overweight than we will be replacing the fat thighs with lean thighs. Even though our weight might go up, because now its turning into muscle instead of fat, but our size comes down. That's why a lot of trainers will tell you not to look at a scale, because the amount you weigh is not indicative of the way you are losing fat and becoming fit. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. GreatLakesGramma Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Right. The flab turned to firm muscle. I did use weights, but not big ones - a total of 40 pounds at the most (a 15 pound dumbbell in each hand, plus a 10 pound weighted belt) - and lots and lots of repetitions (circuit training). But since my knee injury it's all turned back to flab now. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
