Woody Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 What will be Jesus's new name? Quote: “The 144,000 were all sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious star containing Jesus' new name.” Ellen White in EW p.15 Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted September 5, 2009 Members Posted September 5, 2009 I guessing it wont be one of the ones we already know. I'm not sure I can even muster a good guess! pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Outta Here Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Revelation 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name. I, personally, do not know what the new name will be. I do think, however, it will be a reflection of the perfect unification between God and man--a universal, "borg-like" name and existence of the 144,000. Quote
Woody Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 Aslan? I beg your pardon? I have no idea what that is. I do know that 'slan' in Gaelic means 'bye'. Does this mean 'a bye'? I know that 'a' can mean 'without'. So would this then mean 'without good byes'? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
GreatLakesGramma Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Redwood, Aslan was the lion who represented Jesus in C.S. Lewis' Narnia books. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Woody Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 Thanks Catherine. I guess I just showed my ignorance. And I have plenty of that especially lately. Right Gail? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Gail Posted September 5, 2009 Administrators Posted September 5, 2009 Thanks Catherine. I guess I just showed my ignorance. And I have plenty of that especially lately. Right Gail? LOL Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
SivartM Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Redwood, Aslan was the lion who represented Jesus in C.S. Lewis' Narnia books. Yup! It also means "lion" in Turkish. GreatLakesGramma Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Thanks Catherine. I guess I just showed my ignorance. And I have plenty of that especially lately. Right Gail? No big deal. The only reason I knew is because every now and then there's been an article in one of our publications that has focused on the Narnia allegories. Not because I have ever read anything he has written. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Woody Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Okay. Any more suggestions on what Jesus's new name will be? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted September 6, 2009 Members Posted September 6, 2009 I do know one thing, it wont be R_____d! pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 I do know one thing, it wont be R_____d! pk I agree. It for sure won't be Richard. He may be King here but not there. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Okay. I can't take this any longer. I've waited an hour to hear some protestations from Richard and just when you really need him ... he ain't here. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. GreatLakesGramma Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 You need to learn some patience, Redwood. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Haldog Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I do not know of anywhere in the bible that it says He will have a new name. It says He has a name that no one knows. Personally, I think it will be Aleph Tav or some other name like that which He has told us but we just don't see it. One of my favorite teachers, Larry Ollison Quote "You may not agree with everyone. But if you are an honest man, when someone says something you disagree with it’ll drive you to the Word. If you find out that you were wrong and change your thinking then you are the better for it. If you go to the Word and find out that you were right then you have been strengthened. But either way always go to the Word!!” Billye Brim

Planey Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Not because I have ever read anything he has written. That is very sad. Many of the non-fiction books of C S Lewis are well worth studying closely. Mere Christianity, The Problem of Pain,Miracles, Surprised By Joy, God In The Dock are all excellent. I also enjoyed many of his fictional (allegorical) books as well, such as The Screwtape Letters, Space trilogy and Narnia Chronicles.
