Members phkrause Posted September 5, 2009 Members Posted September 5, 2009 Congratulations Redwood!!! Is that a Dove? At first when I saw the eggs, they looked blue like Robin eggs. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Gerr Posted September 5, 2009 Moderators Posted September 5, 2009 Well, I'll be!!! I thought your wife was a pastor! Years ago, my wife put a wreath on our front door that had a bird nest on it. Well, wouldn't you know, a bird took over as her (actually 'their' with her mate) home, laid her eggs, and raised their brood. Quote
ChildofChrist Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 How sweet! I'd let my plants go to pot too if a bird was to take up residence. However, they are hanging only a few feet off the deck so they can be seen better. WIth summer winding down, it is more of a struggle to keep them up. I've noted the mourning doves are standing on the road as I drive out and wonder if they'll take flight before or as I am passing. Sad to think that there are hunters that go after them. There is so little of them to eat and I don't think that they are a pest like some feathered ones. Congratulations on the forth coming hatchings. Just don't get too weepy when they leave the nest. teehe Quote Wakan Tanka Kici Un ~~Child of Christ~~
Woody Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Thanks all. It is exciting to be able to look out the window and see them. The mother is very faithful except when I turn the hose on her trying to water the flowers. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
