How much more is there for SDAs to Discover in Daniel 7:25 re "Times?"

Are we missing something really important re the Second Coming, re the ‘Adventist’ portion of our name?

Before Adventism and Ellen White first came to Sweden my great grandparents discovered and began keeping the 7th Day Sabbath. Being a fourth generation Seventh-day Adventist, and yet also One that identifies very much with first generation Seventh-day Adventist pioneering, I wonder why it is that we Seventh-day Adventists, by and large, have stopped short of discovering why the word ‘times’ in Daniel 7:25 is a plural word and not just a word put in the singular. For isn’t it true that most of us have satisfied ourselves with this being a reference to little more than the Seventh-day weekly Sabbath?

Prior work

In our SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, p. 831, I find the Aramaic word translated “times” explained. Reference is there given to Daniel 2:21 where the same Aramaic words are used as in Daniel 7:25, that is, the words translated “change times” (Dan 7:25) and “changeth the times” (Dan 2:21.) The implication suggested is that those words apply very much to the time reckoning and calendars used by various kings and kingdoms, most especially the Kingdom of God. On the following page (p. 832,) under the subtitle ‘Laws,’ the history of changing the Sabbath from the 7th Day to Sunday is outlined, but I see no reference or discussion anywhere else, in SDA Bible Commentary, to anything beyond the above that said plural Aramaic words should apply to. Perhaps it is time for us to grow beyond that, or isn’t it? We are not to identify ourselves with the Roman Catholic motto “Semper aedem” meaning “Always the same,” are we?

Daniel 7:25 KJV And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws…

Daniel 2:21 KJV And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

“As soon as the seeker for truth opens the Bible to read the utterances of God with reverence, possessing an earnest desire to know "what saith the Lord," light and grace will be given him, and he will see wondrous things out of God's law. He will not regard the law of Jehovah as a yoke of bondage, but as the gracious commands of One who is all-wise and full of compassion. He will make haste to fulfill His requirements. Great truths which have been neglected and unappreciated for ages, will be revealed by the Spirit of God, and new meaning will flash out of familiar texts. Every page will be illuminated by the Spirit of truth. The Bible is not sealed but unsealed. The most precious truths are revealed; the living oracles are heard by wondering ears, and the consciences of men are aroused into action.” --TSS 30. {CSW 34.3}

May be it would be good to elaborate on this great quote, especially the last sentence. Anyone?
