""Will 2012 be a good year for evangelism"" , if based on Bible?

the Mayan thing `n all..?

Here's is one of those theories with which PK thought we might come up.

Time setting for judgment day (doomsday) is often based on false theology in order to lull people into an apathetic state, on the assumption the date to be correct. Those who have not yet become aware that no man knows the day nor the hour and they wish not to give up on this earth until they absolutely have to, could put things off until it is too late to make a decision for Christ and they will lose out on eternal bliss for the sake of a few years of undisciplined pleasure.

It permits complete ignorance of the Bible perspective, without a guilty conscience.

"For He says:“ In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:1 NKJV

"“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Matt 25:6-13 NKJV

It is a state of mind that fits in perfectly with the secret rapture and seven years of tribulation after, allowing a second chance to change your mind.

The best way to defeat the possibility of such an erroneous attitude is to accept the counsel of the Word.

"Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh.

" Matthew 24:44 21st Century KJV

The personal comments at the end of the post should have been preceding the scriptural evidence, as corrected here. Sorry.

When I decided to study time, that is the prophetic time periods in the apocalyptic prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, I discovered that one of them may start in 2012, that is quite a coincidence or is it.

Probably not an easily seen coincidence, if one believes God to be Sovereign and working out His plans over and above the enemies of the righteous. However it is "coincidences" like this that tempt and confuse those who do not search the Scriptures for themselves, to reveal present truth.

"That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9 NKJV

LHC--Interesting post. Thanks. I have been wondering if Satan will use this to deceive many into believing that he is God. What do others think about this? The reason is obvious since time is important to Satan because he knows his time is short. Maybe some awful events will happen just before the 2012 date.

You're welcome, Dr. Rich. I'm hoping there will be others that weigh in to add light to answer your question. And I agree with the possibility you expressed in the last sentence, although it has to be a better seer than I if you feel inclined to put money on it.

"And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power."Acts 1:7 KJV

2012 is an example of "evangelism" done by Satan. It appears that he has big plans for that. But as always --- it is up to God to decide if He will allow it.

What do you mean by that Bob? Are you saying that Satan does not have a choice in what he does? I don't agree with you on this.

I think he means that there are limits to the things God will allow Satan to do. Like when He told Satan he could do anything to Job except kill him.

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar Wilde

Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus

Rich - as soon as you said you reject the full 66 books of scripture as the Word of God, and instead opt for a pick-and-choose solution, "we differred".

But never does it pay to differ on lack of communication -- I am not saying Satan did not choose to promote 2012 -- I firmly believe this was his choice.

But God also has a decision to make as to how much of that he is going to allow.

in Christ,

Bob

So Bob, I take it you fully believe and trust in Romans 13:1-3. Is this correct? I don't. I see a complete disconnect with this and the words of Jesus. Just reading about the temptation of Jesus gives me hard evidence that Satan is now the ruler of this world.

Yes, I do agree with you (probably) on most things as in Job. We find in Revelation God said He will give Satan complete authority and power in the last five months on this earth to bring to life a monster--to make everyone worship it--if possible.

Got a question for you Bob. Do you believe that the majority of those who call themselves "Christian" will be saved? What ever your answer, why?

So Rich, the fact that you see a disconnect between Paul and Jesus, could mean there is a disconnect between you and the Holy Spirit. That would explain why you are still waiting to be born again, and why you think nobody has the Holy spirit.

But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Co 2:14

Richard, If the Holy Spirit is giving you correct answers to everything, tell me who the false apostles are that have been discovered by investigation of the evidence spoken of in Revelation 2:2. If you cannot give me specific names than we will leave this subject open for further investigation, any one who claims to be an apostle is open to investigation.

Posted

Did I claim to have the answers to everything? No. But I can tell you who they are not.

Posted

Richard, I was just wondering if you had ever thought to question any apostles claim to apostleship? God calls them evil men and says they lie, it would seem pretty important to me that we be sure who we are trusting in.

No you have never claimed to have the answers to everything, but you were letting Dr. Rich know that he was most certainly wrong. Rich likes to pull peoples chain (so to speak), believe me, many times I have to tell him to back off, but he means well its just his habit.

I would much rather offer support along with you than to take a position opposite of yours. Who knows Richard, maybe you will discover who the false apostles are.

In today's (Fri. 10-16)'Bible On Trial' program, we talked or discussed the problem of people defending what they think is the truth. One of the questions was "if someone is defending what they believe to be true, how can the Holy Spirit lead them into new truth?

2012 is not that far away and with all of the lies being told for years and years, who knows for sure what is the real truth?

MM presented evidence from the old testament showing that the words of God is truth, but not everything you read and hear is the word of God. In Det. we saw that what God wrote on the tablets were the words of God.

God specifically did not EVER say or suggest that the whole bible is the word of God. It was an awesome program and one that we will give to anyone who wants to hear it.

Rich dosn't bother me, I tend to enjoy the banter. He is wrong though, and I can't let that slide without putting in my digs.

As far as false apostles, prophets, and false Christs even, we have those today. The Pope claims to be God on earth. Is he God? No. There are people all over making these wild claims, so it dosn't necessarily have to be apostles who made it into the canon. I know you believe it is.....

Posted

I believe the book of Rev. is mainly for the last generation. Do you believe that?

Rich enjoys the banter also.

Richard, who knows, a year from now you may see things very differently.

I know it is late over there on the other seaboard, I going to turn in, I have a big day tomorrow. Sabbath School and then the Redlands airport "fly-in" and I am the president of the Redlands flying club so I have to be there.

I will be on for a few more minutes if you want to say anything more.

I would agree by reading the first three verses. What makes one "Wise" as found in Dan. 12:10? Since only the wise will understand and none of the wicked will, don't you agree that it would be a good idea to know who the wise are and what makes them wise?

Posted

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2Ti 3:15

How may one obtain it?

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." Jam_1:5."

A fly-in is an airport open house. There is aero acrobatics, helicopter rides etc.
