Doug Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I haven't told everyone why I don't work on Friday nights, only a couple of people have asked me and I have not gone into detail too much. I have the sneaking suspicion that many people where I work are 1. Upset that I have Friday evenings off, because I also get a 3 day weekend every week and 2. That I am not serious about it, people keep on asking me why I won't come back and work Friday evenings again. I am heavy into cars, and I also love car drifting and drag racing, what sucks is the events are 95% of the time on Saturday, once in a while u hav on on a Sunday. I went one time on a Saturday, didn't have a good time because I felt guilt tll te sun went down. How do I let people know with out getting "in their face" about it? There was a company wide picnic on Saturday morning, everyone was telling me I should go but I didn't want to sould like a broken record "Church and it's the Sabbath". Do you guys think maybe I need to "lighten up" in concern with the Sabbath? What I mean is not be so stuck in my ways, like I know I don't have to go to church every week, there are other things I can do, like last week a church I have been going to was part of a beach cleanup on Sabbath morning. Administrators Gail Posted October 19, 2009 Administrators Posted October 19, 2009 Doug, don't feel pressured into lightening up! Just tell them the truth. You may be either presecuted for it at work (I was at one time) or they will leave you alone or ask questions. It's not a sin to have a faith in this enlightened age! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 19, 2009 Moderators Posted October 19, 2009 You might say something like this: "For religious reasons, my schedule is pretty inflexable (full) on Saturday." If they want to know more, they will ask. If they do not, they will not and you have not been in their face. Quote Gregory
