Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 24, 2009 Moderators Posted October 24, 2009 How many of you knew that a few days ago, people gathered around the world to celebrate International Blasphemy Day? Without looking it up on the Internet, Who can geve me the date that Blasphemy Day was celebrated. In Washington D.C., on Blasphemy Day, an art show was held in which an artist showed her paintings designed to make fun of Christ and Christianity--see the painting: Jesus Does His Nails, as one example. NOTE: In a similar vein, how many of you have ever noted the weekly media column: "Jesus of the Week?" It often takes on the SDA Chruch and its well-known artist H. Anderson. Quote Gregory
Members phkrause Posted October 24, 2009 Members Posted October 24, 2009 Without looking it up I wouldn't be able to tell you Gregory, so I looked it up, I guessing the 30th of September, but it was hard to figure out. They mentioned a few different dates, like September 24, 25 and so on. Pretty crazy stuff though. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted October 24, 2009 Members Posted October 24, 2009 I think it was on September 30. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Members phkrause Posted October 24, 2009 Members Posted October 24, 2009 Thanks rudywoofs, I kind of figured that, but the way Gregory worded it I thought it was only a few days ago but its been almost a month ago. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Guest Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I guess you are right dgrimm. (shaking my head also, and spitting off the front porch in the direction of the blasphemers.) Quote
Amelia Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 The thing about living in this free country is, people are free to blaspheme. And people are free to object to the blasphemers. SivartM Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Why are they blaspheming? Don't they know that's against the Bible?
