Members phkrause Posted October 26, 2009 Members Posted October 26, 2009 When I first read the title of the thread, it accured to me that, wasn't the doctor an adventist? Than when I saw the video and saw LL there I knew that I was right about the doctor, but had forgotten that this was also done at one of our hospital. It makes you proud to know that we were a part of that. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators John317 Posted October 26, 2009 Moderators Posted October 26, 2009 I lived in Loma Linda and worked at the hospital at the time this surgery was performed. Not all of the publicity was positive because so many animal rights protesters in town. They were terribly upset at the fact that a baboon died in order to provide a heart for a human infant. Most of the TV reporters there seemed primarily interested in doing interviews about those protests and about how outraged some people were about the death of a baboon. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Neil D Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Perception is not all that it seems.... I remember the story, and the positive response for it...Many were said that the babboon had to die but were glad that a human baby lived....We knew the cost, and were satisfied. Moderators John317 Posted October 26, 2009 Moderators Posted October 26, 2009 Yes, I think most people's reaction was not the same as the animal rights protesters. Some of them broke into one of the labs here and intentionally spilled blood all over the place. I was just very glad a child was given more time to live. Members phkrause Posted October 27, 2009 Members Posted October 27, 2009 Yes but sometimes in not a very good light. Remember that movie, A cry in the dark, I believe was its name. About the adventist family in Australia that lost there child to wild animals or something like that. They didn't show SDAs in a good light in that movie at all Dgrimm. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
