I don't get to an ABC too often so I now that I just used up my last Proteena/Protose I stopped in to get a couple more cases of my absolute favorite product from Worthington Foods. Guess what??!!!!! The folks there told me that it had been discontinued.

What is with this? Kelloggs seems to be cutting out everything that appeals to those of us that have used the product over the years.

My question is, can you help me find a product out there which is close to the ones I'm missing?

I'm seriously grieving the loss of this stuff. Used to eat it in sandwiches all the time. I don't know what to do.

Thanks for the suggestion there dgrimm60, but from what I understand Worthington/Kelloggs isn't manufacturing the stuff any more. Shipping isn't really the issue if it isn't available.

What I'm wondering is if anyone knows of a similar product that is made by some other company that would have a comparable taste and texture?

Hope someone can help.

I thought, Mighty Oak, I heard that some else was going to start making those items again! Not sure where I heard that. So don't quote me. :)

Are those products like "Nuteena?" Cedar Lake makes a product called "Nuti-loaf" which is a peanut-based food used for sandwiches, etc.

It is available at our nearby health food store, and might be available at places like Whole Foods, etc.
