Woody Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Blanche and I recently headed down the interstate and visited a Presidential Library and Memorial burial site of one of our good Republican presidents. Wow was it impressive. I was just in awe at how majestic we can honor our dead. Very interesting. If anyone has the opportunity to go to a Presidential Library ... I would highly recommend it. Very informative. On the way home ... we saw a big billboard. The billboard just said "FORGIVE THEM". I have no idea who they were referring to ... but I told Blanche ... Isn't that nice. Some Republicans are trying to reach out and be kind to the Democrats for the mess we are in. I think it is a good idea to FORGIVE THEM. Before this gets transfered to the political forum ... I have to say this was not intended to be political. It was just a little trip taken by Blancheee and Redwood. It did give me pause to think of how glamorously we honor the dead. I think Philip Yancey in one of his books talks about this. I will have to look it up. I was impressed at the simplicity of Ellen White's tomb when I went to Battle Creek. Administrators Gail Posted November 2, 2009 Administrators Posted November 2, 2009 I like to visit graveyards for that reason. I find it interesting how different cultures treat their dead. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
