Woody Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Please list ... what we have to show for it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dr. Shane Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Obama took the credit card companies to task. That was a good thing. He increased funding for children's health insurance and funded it with an increase on cigarette tax. That was a good thing. He has funded numerous highway projects that were needed. That is a good thing. He passed a $2,500 tax credit for college tuition. That is a good thing. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Woody Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 Also showed people that no matter where you start out in life you can reach any goal that you set for yourself. pk The question being ... Where did he start out? (It's been the subject of much debate.) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dr. Shane Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 A biracial kid in a broken home. He is quite a success story. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 Bill Clinton was also a biracial kid from a broken home. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 Race: "any people united by common history, language, cultural traits, etc.: the Dutch race." From our dear friend Webster. You are free to disagree with him though. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Dr. Shane Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Bill Clinton was also a biracial kid from a broken home. Were we talking about Bill Clinton? Why not talk about the price of rice in China? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 Like Clinton ... just because he is biracial from a broken home ... doesn't mean he is any good. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Ted Oplinger Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 What do we have to show for the last year? As noted in the posts above... nation more polarized on race than ever before... A government bordering on the fascism of Mussolini with the takeover of 2/3 of the American auto industry and the banking sector... A national debt that is greater than that compiled by all previous presidents to the start of this nation - combined...flirting with national bankruptcy and economic depression in the process... A lowered prestige overseas, as traditional friendly nations have been rudely insulted, and our erstwhile enemies have been bowed to... A media industry that is now openly admitting themselves to be mere propaganda puppets for the political Left... Consumer confidence at its lowest in decades... Unemployment breaking 10% - over 15% if one adds to that tally the number of people who have simply stopped trying to find work (conveniently not figured in these days)... A "jobless economic recovery", with Wall St. enjoying a recovery, but the little guy gets - once again - thrown under the bus. When will the little guy ever learn???... A community organizing group demonstrated to be nothing more than another shade of organized crime,,, ...BUT he did crack down on the credit card industry...and in the process made getting credit by many to be nearly impossible by virtue of their current placement in the lower end of the socio-economic end of the scale. By golly, that's quite an impressive list! A lot to be thankful for as we head into our Thanksgiving season...for this has struck the American people like nothing has since WW2.... Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
