Guest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I doubt that. He will still be free to roam the rest of the forum. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted November 16, 2009 Moderators Posted November 16, 2009 Sounds like a great idea to me. I like my sport as much as the next bloke, but in the absence of cricket and rugby league I can't participate all that much, so moving the (US) sport to its own forum would unclutter Town Hall while making it easier for those who can. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 16, 2009 Members Posted November 16, 2009 I think having a Sports Forum for the fanatics is a GREAT idea!!!!! I don't even think it needs a moderator - it sort of is a self-monitoring type of topic... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Rudywoofs would be a good neutral sports observer. And we guys need the cool calming influence of a woman when we are aggressively cheering for our team. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Come on. You'all enjoy reading the play by play. You just don't want to admit it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Yes dgrimm. I agree. If it ain't broke ... don't fix it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 16, 2009 Members Posted November 16, 2009 No...you guys need a sports forum... Townhall is virtually cut off from anything else while you watch the games and post the scorings on the forum. It's not really fair to other forum members who want to talk about things, but can't - because there're so many posts of "atta boy" "score" "touchdown" and other such tripe. Your own forum would keep it within your own little group and preserve the Townhall persona that it was supposed to be.. Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Well ... pretty soon we will have to have a forum for every topic known to mankind. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 16, 2009 Members Posted November 16, 2009 You gotta admit posting every 2 seconds is a bit much.. and since that's what you guys want to do, then a separate forum should be created just for you. Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Just think ... we could have a forum for each kind of sport played throughout the world. And then subforums. And all kinds of species. After awhile ... it gets mind boggling and confusing. But then who am I. They will do as they need to do. But heaven forbid one posts on the wrong forum with the wrong topic. Moderators Gerr Posted November 16, 2009 Moderators Posted November 16, 2009 A sports forum is long overdue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 You would be just opposite of me Gerry. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Guest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 We would of course, need a separate forum for "Women's Tennis", "Vollyball", and "Synchronized Swimming". Quote

Woody Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Well ... soon the women will be demanding their own sports program forum. And besides ... The FCAC FICA FECA and FODA probably demand it. But now my posts will be removed to the politics forum. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Bravus Posted November 16, 2009 Moderators Posted November 16, 2009 "tripe" - mmm, yummy cow stomach in white sauce... Quote Truth is important

Moderators lazarus Posted November 16, 2009 Author Moderators Posted November 16, 2009 LOL, tripe!!!! I think we need to set up this sports forum before worse things are said. I'm dying to have a discussion about this "World Series" baseball malarkey or Superbowl champions being world champions! Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities.
