Dr. Shane Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 We are going to a Thanksgiving dinner at a local AA group today. I am fixing tofurkey, pineapple-yams and butternut squash to take. A lot of people there don't have family willing to spend the holiday with them. Many go back to drinking this time of year. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Woody Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I am stuffed just as much as the turkey. I did the finishing touches by eating half of a pecan pie with cool whip. Yum Yum. But Ohhhh my tummy. I'm starting to wonder why we do Thanksgiving. It is starting to hurt. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

GreatLakesGramma Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 We had Special K loaf. Sister in law brought it. I made cranberry relish from a recipe in a raw foods holiday cookbook. Everybody liked it, including my son who doesn't like cranberry sauce because it's too sweet. I thought it might not be sweet enough for the lovers of cranberry sauce, but they liked it too. Dr. Shane Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Our Thanksgiving potluck went very well. I think we had more dessert than regular food. I was thinking that would happen. I had a great big dish of red potatoes, onions, carrots, bell peppers and baby squash that I cooked with the Tofurkey and everyone seemed to love it. We eat so much processed food I started to wonder how many people have grown accustomed to not eating real food. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Guest Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Actually that dosn't look all that bad. I had imagined a big blob of tofu on the table, with someone waving a cooking spoon, and saying "I dub thee Turkey". I was half right. Quote
SivartM Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Veggie-meats ftw! My mom was sick yesterday and couldn't come with my dad and I to visit our relatives.
