Woody Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 the diversity of thought and experience as represented here on this forum. Yes, sometimes I would love to delete some of that diversity. But when you reflect on it ... it just represents the real people that our church is . It is VERY diverse. And when I think about it ... I think that is fine. The less dogmatic we are the better. Our fundamentals remain the same even though there may be different interpretation. Our job is to embrace and accept the diversity that is here. No we don't have to compromise our personal beliefs and interpretations. But we need to accept that others don't see things as we personally might. And we don't need to nor will we see eye to eye. But we can look each other in the eye and love our fellow brothers and sisters. (Just my wandering thoughts on this Thanksgiving Day) Happy Thanksgiving Enjoy your families and friends on this day. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Happy Thanksgiving Redwood. What I've hi-lighted in bold above that you wrote, I really agree with. Its to bad that so many, not all on this forum, just a very few, think that when christian's don't get along that there is something wrong with the way God allowed things to get. But someday that will change and we will have a CA reunion in heaven and than especially on the earth made new, where we all will be able to finally greet each other with and for some it will be the first time that we will see each other. And that is one of the things that I am thankful for, my CA family. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. zeta1 Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I am thankful that I am part of a loving family...and I have friends that care. And most of all that I serve a loving and forgiving God!!! Quote
doctorj Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Having said that it is good to have the diversity, there also needs to be an equal tempering of that. While we will always have diversity we also need to come together as a Church and to have some things in common that makes us a "unified" whole. Yes, we are members of the one body of Christ. Each member of the body does something differently but all are connected and share the same "blood" - being the blood of Christ. So while we may rejoice in the diversity, we also need to come together in the one spirit, the one blood, the one Saviour. Stan Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Redwood, I appreciate what you posted a lot. As I said in other places, we need to be more about conversation than confrontation. Woody Posted November 28, 2009 Author Posted November 28, 2009 Thanks Stan. I've observed that confrontation is caused by confabulations in the conversation which brings on the confrontations that reduce the conversations. Oh I dunno. It may just be gettin' too late for me to make any sense. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
