Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 29, 2009 Members Posted December 29, 2009 A few days ago I got "The Great Controversy: The Epic Story of the Battle Between Christ and Satan with New King James Version" Home Library Edition from Pacific Press Publishing. My mom got one too. We didn't send for the books... they just were sent to us. Did anyone else here get this book? I haven't opened it yet. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 29, 2009 Author Members Posted December 29, 2009 Okay, on the back of the address label it says it's a gift from the local conference and the North Pacific Union Conference support team. So I guess all members in the NPUC Union got a copy. I wonder why other Unions didn't do the same thing?? It's a nice book....has color photos in it.. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 29, 2009 Author Members Posted December 29, 2009 no, it's a softback. It says it's the companion to the new Desire of Ages. SivartM Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I want one! Do you think it's too late to transfer my membership to the NPUC? Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 29, 2009 Author Members Posted December 29, 2009 LOL - I wonder if you contacted the Pacific Press or your Union/Conference, they would be amenable to sending out copies to their members. It really is quite a nice book. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 30, 2009 Author Members Posted December 30, 2009 Apparently it's been revised using the NKJV as well, so this book I have is the companion book to the new NKJV Desire of Ages Edition. nuff sed Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Jerry D. Thomas re-wrote "The Desire of Ages" in today's vernacular in 2003. The name of it is "Messiah". Published by Pacific Press and available through your local Conference Adventist Book Center. Quote

Jerry D Thomas Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 This is an editon of Great Controversy created by the NPUC. They did a similar version of Desire of Ages a few years ago and sent a copy to every member in the union. The only difference from the regular version is that the Bible texts are from the NKJV.
