Members abelisle Posted January 11, 2010 Members Posted January 11, 2010 "Today was a very good day for me; I prayed to Jesus and I thanked him. I hoped he would help me to do well there." http://www.iaaf.org/CROS10/news/newsid=55256.html These words were spoken by 22 yr. old Joseph Ebuya who won the very prestigious IAAF Great Edinburgh International Cross Country (X-C) Race and in the process beat the reigning World Champion and World Record holder Keneisha Bekele. I just have one question. If everyone prays to win in a competition, how does God choose who he will answer? Alex (let me guess - this belongs in the Sports fan forum? ) Quote We are our worst enemy - sad but true. http://abelisle.blogspot.com
Administrators Gail Posted January 11, 2010 Administrators Posted January 11, 2010 You're catching on! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Alex (let me guess - this belongs in the Sports fan forum? ) Interesting, ever wonder about 2 football teams that pray on either side of the field about betting the team on the other side? My question would be, not if God listens to these prays, but does he answer them? pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 In the movie, "Facing the Giants", they didn't pray to win, but that they would glorify God.
