Members phkrause Posted January 12, 2010 Members Posted January 12, 2010 This is hard.... That is a tough one Richard, but I agree with GLG pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted January 12, 2010 Administrators Posted January 12, 2010 Our next door neighbor's kids did that very same paint thing... what a mess! Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Both of my granddaughters have redecorated their house, and themselves, with magic markers. But I'd take either of them over a dog any day, and so would their Mom. Dogs don't buy you 3-color pens that say "Grandma" on them, or make you ornaments for your Christmas tree with school picture of them framed by a wreath made out of jigsaw puzzle pieces painted green with red "berries." Or tell you, "I wish I could live with you forever." Dogs don't want to help you cook or go for walks and pick wildflowers. Dogs don't tell you you're awesome and try to copy what you do. Administrators Gail Posted January 12, 2010 Administrators Posted January 12, 2010 Yeah, I think I would go for the kids anytime, in spite of the teen years! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dottie Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I looked at the first picture, and thought, "A crate could have prevented that." But then I looked at the second one, and thought, "A playpen could have prevented that." But those two children are too big for a playpen. I know people who put their children who can't or won't obey into their room with an alarm on the door. You can't lock them in, and you don't want them to lock you out. I choose dogs and children. Neil D Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I'm too old for children.... And to be honest, I'm not that crazy about taking care of any animal that don't take care of itself....Cats can do that..... But Bees are better! As long as you don't disturb them, they will not bother you... ....and you can watch them work all you want!!!! Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 12, 2010 Members Posted January 12, 2010 I had a swarm of yellow jacket bees take up residency in one of my bird houses. I couldn't get rid of them until we squirted insecticide into the bird house. They were a nuisance. I couldn't work around in my gardens at all where the bird house was standing because the bees would come out. I still vote for a dog...wish I had one now...this minute.. ntmomitf Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Neil D Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Yellow Jackets are not the same as honey bees....and they have a different personallity than honey bees...... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Outta Here Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 That's really only one question: Should I get a dog, or should I have children? If it were two questions, then two answers would be plausible. In my opinion, ntmomitf, dogs are a lot easier than children to train up in the way they should go; but the rewards of having children can far outweigh the rewards of having a dog. At any rate, don't have both dogs and children--too much hassle. Quote

GreatLakesGramma Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Yellow Jackets are not the same as honey bees....and they have a different personallity than honey bees...... That's because, although yellow jackets look like bees, they're actually a variety of wasp. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Liz Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Why does it have to be either/or? Why not get both, dogs and children, they go together nicely and then you can have a circus. On a side note, I hate yellow jackets, you can leave them alone and they still will attack you if they think you got to close to their nest.
