SivartM Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 That's commendable of them. Of course, from the article, it didn't sound like China would be too upset, as their own search engine is more popular... Shiny happy people holding hands... GreatLakesGramma Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Yes, the article named the Chinese government-sponsored search engine. Members phkrause Posted January 14, 2010 Members Posted January 14, 2010 Yes, the article named the Chinese government-sponsored search engine. And what would that name be? Or is that what its called "Chinese government-sponsored search engine"? pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It's in the article. It won't take any more time for you to look it up than it will for me to do it. And YOU are the one who wants to know. I don't have time to look it up, let alone care what it is. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Thanks Rudy and GLG. I figured it would be something that I've never heard of. But I will read the article to see the context before I really say what I'm thinking about this so called browser. If its only there word for it than I've got my doubts. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 14, 2010 Members Posted January 14, 2010 well, it would be in Chinese, so I don't think it would be a very good browser for the English-speaking world.. Members phkrause Posted January 14, 2010 Members Posted January 14, 2010 well, it would be in Chinese, so I don't think it would be a very good browser for the English-speaking world.. I would definitely agree with that rudywoofs. But if they are claiming that it is more popular than google than I would disagree with them that it is more popular. Because the rest of the world would have the same problem with chinese. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. SivartM Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I think they mean that it's more popular in China. Members phkrause Posted January 14, 2010 Members Posted January 14, 2010 I think they mean that it's more popular in China. Now that I can except! But it just seemed that the spin was to say that its more popular than google. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. GreatLakesGramma Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 No, the article was only about what's happening with relation to China, not the whole world. The point was that the Chinese government really doesn't have much reason to care if Google pulls out, because it's only #3 in China.
