Woody Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Had some JWs come by today. I took the time to be polite and listen to their speal. I was tempted to introduce them to JS. Wouldn't it be far better to turn on a JW to JS ? At the end ... I explained to them why they should probably keep their literature for someone else. I think they were convinced. I honestly don't expect to see them again. But we left friends. If they do come again ... I think I will leave a JS book with them. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Just asking and why a JS book? pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members phkrause Posted January 16, 2010 Members Posted January 16, 2010 REDWOOD I USE to listen to their talk but they did not want to seem to accept any think I WAS TALKING ABOUT SO when they come back I JUST tell them that I am a S.D.A. and am not interesting dgrimm60 I think I remember someone mentioning that if you tell them you are an SDA they just say thank you and leave? pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 16, 2010 Members Posted January 16, 2010 That's what I do....it helped, too, when I had Rudy, my Bernese Mtn Dog. They would take one look at him and say their farewells. I was tempted to introduce them to JS. Wouldn't it be far better to turn on a JW to JS ? who is JS? Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Woody Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 PKRAUSE YES I have had not much problem with them coming back when I SAY I am S.D.A. dgrimm60 WEll ... I also mentioned what my spouse was doing at the very hour they came. That should cure things. When I mentioned that ... they said ... "Oh, you must be a Seventh day Adventist. Woody Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 Quote: Do you think that is better than a EGW book? Just asking and why a JS book? WEll ... there are a couple of reasons: 1.) I thought the alliteration with JW and JS was better than JW and EGW. But then maybe I was wrong. 2.) I thought that they might have been warned about Ellen White. And if I just gave them a regular gospel centered author such as Jack ... that they might be more receptive. 3.) Jack is a more modern author and might be more easily understood. Just some of my 'thoughts'. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
