Cosmin M. Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 This is my "motto" on different orientations... It is a Federal crime to hijack an automobile; it is a Federal crime to possess cocaine. It ought to be a Federal crime to be gay. I don't hate gay people, I just disagree with their orientation. Quote
SivartM Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Hi Cosmin! Anyway, I don't think it should be illegal to be gay any more than it should be illegal to NOT be. People who happen to be attracted to the same sex haven't done anything to hurt anyone else... This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 22, 2010 Members Posted January 22, 2010 Uh...I don't think it's a Federal crime to "hijack" (steal) an automobile. Maybe I'm wrong though. It IS a Federal crime to hijack an airplane. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators John317 Posted January 22, 2010 Moderators Posted January 22, 2010 It ought to be a Federal crime to be gay. It's impossible to enforce laws against being gay. Maybe you mean it should be a crime to have gay sex. That's really a separate issue from being gay. There have been laws against certain kinds of sexual acts. Is that what you're talking about? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Cosmin M. Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Your right on the money John317. I am still against 2 guys holding hands, nothing can change that. Quote

Liz Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I can see it becoming a federal crime to think, that's why so many people don't they are trying to avoid the rush---ba dum bump, cymbal crash. Seriously though, this one reminds me of the movie "Minority Report". **sorry guys, I had a frosted sugar cookie and am having a sugar rush, also am thinking I watch too many movies.** Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Moderators Bravus Posted January 23, 2010 Moderators Posted January 23, 2010 I think perhaps that fisherman was trawling, also sometimes called 'trolling', and olger may have been ever so subtly suggesting that Cosmin was fishing for a response with his opening post... and we took the bait. To clarify my earlier comments: Cosmin has the absolute right to say what he said, to believe what he believes, to preach it and publish it. But if his call for homosexual orientation to be made illegal was effective, then something would have been made illegal on religious grounds... in contravention of the relevant amendment. That would pave the way for other religiously-based laws, including Sunday Laws. That's all I was saying. Quote Truth is important
pindoc Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 But I never met a guy who was turned off by 2 women holding hands. Some pretend to be. IMNSHO, most men are grossed out by gays but not lesbians cuz they figure they might get 2 at once. Just my observation. Seriously, so many Bible verses used against non-het orientations are just bogus. I started the VOP's Bible-reading-in-a-year plan. So, I just re-read the story of Noah's family. Where did anyone get the idea that Ham had sex with Noah? The language refers to Ham SEEING his father's nakedness. 1. If the verse read, Ham KNEW his father's nakedness, that would refer to sex. SEEING does not. 2. It violated Jewish law of the day to SEE one's father's nakedness. That is why the other 2 sons BACKED into Noah's room to put a blanket over him. Quote Pindoc
pindoc Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Nazi law banned male homosexual sex, not female. The famous pink triangle was only worn by men. The women caught as homosexuals wore black triangles, also worn by prostitutes and (female) petty thieves. Paragraph 175 of the Reich Criminal Code was amended decades later to allow consensual sex b/w adults, but it wasn't repealed till 1969 - I just checked the date. Btw, JW's wore purple triangles. I want to meet some of those folks in heaven who dared to stand against the Nazis. The Nazis had no moral compunction against homosexuality per se. Their only sin was that if they weren't reproducing; they weren't doing their duty to make more baby Nazis. One of Hitler's cabinet was openly gay. Unfortunately, he wasn't monogamous - sleeping around makes it more obvious with whom one is having sex. June 30, 1934 Ernest Rohm and other SA officials were arrested in the name of treason. On July 2, Rohm was executed. The arrests marked the beginning of a widespread massacre of gay men, know as the Night of the Long Knives. I've known these basic facts for many years; I did just search to check names and dates. Quote Pindoc
pindoc Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 PICDOC IF the girls or young ladies are really lesbians they do not want to have any thing to do with men so your reasoning does not fly with me dgrimm60 You're SO correct. Your reasoning is perfect. However, I've met many men who don't seem to believe that any women would not have interest in men, sexually, thus the far-fetched fantasies. Btw - I listened to Tom Leykus regularly during the Bill-Monica scandal. 2 things amazed me about callers to his radio show: 1. SO many people really do not believe they had sex if it was only oral. That told me, Bill wasn't lying when he said "I did not have sex with that woman". He was deluded, but I see that differently, compared to intentional dishonesty. 2 - this relates to this conversation - many women thought they weren't cheating on their dh if they had sex with a woman outside their marriage. Those women were deluded, also. I certainly never met a dh who didn't think that was cheating! Hey, cheating is cheating, some people's kids, aargh! Quote Pindoc

That would pave the way for other religiously-based laws, including Sunday Laws. That's all I was saying. I agree with you. Both the USSR and China have had laws against homosexual acts, and these were not based on religious faith. But our laws against it would almost certainly be based on religion & would pave the way to other religiously-based laws. In that way, it is similar to anti-abortion laws. I'm not in favor of men holding hands in public, either, but I wouldn't vote for a law that would make it illegal. In Mexico-- believe it or not-- a man can be arrested for sitting in a car making out with his girl friend or wife. Mexico City recently made same-sex marriage legal, but I am sure they still have laws that prohibit men from kissing either women or men in public. At least they do in Tijuana. Moderators John317 Posted January 24, 2010 Moderators Posted January 24, 2010 But I never met a guy who was turned off by 2 women holding hands. In most cases, a woman or girl holding hands with other females doesn't have the same significance as two men or two teen-age boys holding hands. Girls in Europe-- at least in Germany, France, and the Netherlands-- are more likely to hold hands with their girl friends, and this rarely has anything to do with romance or sex. My experience is that it's common for heterosexual men both here and in Europe to enjoy seeing two women together. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
