Woody Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 An 84 year old woman was finally dug out from the rubble of a building in Haiti today. She was frail and covered with maggots. Experts say that it is difficult to survive 72 hours. Yet this woman survived. Why? What was special about her. How did she manage to survive? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Cosmin M. Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 From a Christian perspective: God was with her. From a "Darwin/Big Bang/Atheist" perspective: Her monkey ancestors were gorrillaphants. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 22, 2010 Members Posted January 22, 2010 PORT-AU-PRINCE, Jan 22 (Reuters) - An 84-year-old woman was pulled alive by rescuers from under a wrecked building in Port-au-Prince on Friday, 10 days after the earthquake that devastated much of the Haitian capital, the doctor who treated her said. "They pulled her out early this morning. She was barely responding, she had wounds all over her body, and maggots. It's very unusual," Dr. Vladimir Larouche, a Haitian-American doctor from New York working at the General Hospital, told Reuters. "I treated her and made her stable. The (U.S.) army evacuated her to a boat," he added.
