Looks like our good friends, the Catholics are jumping on the technology bandwagon. Pope Benedict is encouraging his priests to engage online with their congregants.

I started encouraging "texting" in my sermons as of this last Sabbath. Everyone liked it. No complaints so far. When some of the older folk had issues with their phones, I told them "just look for the nearest young person. They'll hook you up!"

We even have a separate page on Facebook for our afternoon study group called "Morris Park Bereans"

Feel free to join up with us. I did a presentation yesterday on global religious liberty issues. We aren't streaming live yet but we like to think we're trying to be a cutting-edge church in our postmodern society.

If you're feeling really brave... at an education technology conference I went to they had a projection screen a few feet to the side of and behind the speaker with a live Twitter feed of all the tweets that were tagged as being about that conference... so you got a live running commentary on the presentation. First person to do that in a sermon is a braver man (of whatever sex) than I.
