aldona Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 gotta wonder which is healthier.a - having a pig lung b - being dead Which follows biblical principals for healthy living best? Our Jewish friends (whom we always hold up as examples of legalism) follow the principle that it is permissible to use any article which would otherwise be forbidden, if the intention is to save life. The very first ever pig valve transplant involved a Jewish patient. Before proceeding with the surgery, the surgeon asked the patient's rabbi for permission, which was obtained without hesitation (due to the above principle), as it was clear that without this attempt the patient would certainly die. If you can get hold of a copy of "Code of Jewish Law" (ed. Rabbi Solomon Ganzfried) or a similar book which sets out a summary of Jewish religious rules and regulations, it makes an eye-opening read. It will make you realize how in many ways we Adventists are in danger of becoming more legalistic than the Pharisees of Jesus' day would have been. aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
