[Petition] Forum Appearance Change

Recommended Posts

I would like to the forum to change its appearance and style to something more modern and more attractive. If you agree so tell us here, if not, tell us why not.

Hi Cosmin, I don't mind the change in the top picture, but to change the whole forum would be very confusing to me. We did it once already...maybe you weren't here yet. It was hard for me to get used to the change and I didn't post for a long time because of it. (maybe that was good???)

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I'm with you on this Pam. I hate change. I suspect that I am not alone when I say I am not the most techy educated or skilled nut on the tree. But if some want or need change ... I would ask what and why?

I don't like change, either. But if the top were to change, and just the look of the forum, without altering the way it works, it might draw more young people, such as Cosmin. He has a fresh point of view, and so does SivartM.

This is only my "old fogey" opinion.

I wouldn't know anything about "old fogey" ideas ... but I do agree with what you have said. I could handle cosmetic changes. But that is the extent of my tolerance for change.

Is that "old fogey" ?

I have no problem with the way the setup is. And if most want to have it changed, that is also fine.

Does this request come with a large financial contribution for any specific software?

I agree. I didn't quit posting but it took me a long time to learn how to use the new software too. I actually liked the old software better.

Would you accept some pirated software?

You do know you have the option in you user settings to change the appearance, just for yourself, to one of a range of different themes, and also to change the layout, right? Check your Control Panel and you might be surprised.

I agree with the rest who say a change in appearance is OK, which you can accomplish on your own, as Bravus says, but to change how it functions is not. Most of the members here are older persons, Cosmin. We have too many duties and responsibilities in our lives to devote a lot of time to figuring out how to work a whole new forum program, to get it to do what we need and want it to do, when we already know how to do it with this one, but a new program doesn't do it the same way.

It's not that we lack the technical skill, we just lack the time.

Yes,Cosmin. Listen to your Gramma. Some of us even have to work for a living. We're responsible adults now.

Time is even more precious to retirees. They've come to the point of discovering that their list of things they've been waiting all their lives to have time to do is so long, they still don't have time to do it all. And they realize there will never be a time when they will have more time.

I would like to hear some of the suggestions that are being made for a change to the forum. If they are improvements, and not necessarily just change for the sake of change, then I'd like to see them implemented.

The appearance of the forum looks fine to me as it is, the functionality could use a little tweaking--but other than that, I think it's already a nice forum.

no change needed

nor desired. Kudos to Stan.

I agree. Cosmin, what kind of changes do you have in mind?
