Woody Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Sorry dgrimm ... but you can't reserve ahead of time. You have to win first. And all those who voted she would retire first ... are WRONG. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Outta Here Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Out of curiosity, why is it assumed that those who voted she'd retire first did so out of some sort of malevolence or ill-will toward Amelia? Quote

GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Gail - - It seems to me that if people are guessing and voting on someone's behavior, a pm to that person would be in order. Then the person in question could have a say in the result of the voting. Considering that the title of the thread is "Amelia," it seems sufficient to draw her attention. Unless she has her preferences set to email PMs to her, she would probably see the title before the PM. Well, if it were me, I would, since I enter townhall directly by bookmark. GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Since there is no selection with only one vote, does that mean all who voted for the correct time period will have to divide their pizza? Because mine has to have a non-wheat crust and non-dairy or no cheese, and low-fat besides, since high fat food makes me very sick to my stomach. It would be awfully difficult to make a pizza with a part wheat and part non-wheat crust. The rest would be a lot easier. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 No onions or bell peppers for me, just olives and mushrooms. But it's easy to spread toppings over only part of a pizza. You just have to make sure not to get your sections mixed up while you're making it. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Dr. Shane Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Woody is not far behind. If Amelia falls asleep a couple more times, he might catch up and pass her. I have gotten more active in my local church and with my kids in the evenings so my posting has slowed down quite a bit. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Amelia needs 68 more posts. Woody needs 604. He'd have to really hustle to pass her before she reaches 20,000. GREATLAKESGRAMMA WELL I would be willing to try a non wheat crust that is if both of us voted the same smile smile smile smile dgrimmm60 Oh, and by the way, at this point, there are 5 of us who voted the same as me, so even if you did vote the same, there are still 3 other people who might not want a non-wheat crust. karl Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Amelia needs 68 more posts. Woody needs 604. He'd have to really hustle to pass her before she reaches 20,000. What kinda posts? I've got a few fence posts lying around here somewhere. Will that help? Lightposts, maybe? Hitching posts? Quote
Woody Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Well you all. I see you are having a healthy discussion about pizza. Counting your chickens before they're hatched are ya? Like Shane ... I've been a little distracted lately between the Olympics and spending some time with my wife. So, my post total has suffered some. But as dgrimm says ... you can do it you can do it. Outta Here Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 If my calculations are correct* then: Amelia should reach 20,000 posts on the morning of March 14. Woody should reach 20,000 posts on the afternoon of March 19. And, dgrimm60 should reach 20,000 posts on the evening of March 22. *Assuming that Amelia makes 135 posts per 30 day cycle--a rough guess because there is no data supposting this assumption; Woody and dgrimm60's ETA are probably more accurate predictions. GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Counting your chickens before they're hatched are ya? I did the calculations, based on Amelia's current total and the length of time she's been a member. So, unless she slows down or quits posting for a while, statistically, it should come out closest to what I voted. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Outta Here Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I think that Amelia has considerably slowed down her posting. That's why I didn't use the overall time that she's been here, but used the statistics (which are unavailable to me) based on the current 30 day trend. Had I used the overall stats from all the years she's been here, I would have guessed the same as GLG. March 9, in the afternoon would have been my "guesstimate". Of course...Amelia could befuddle us all and stay up through the night following the current trends of some here on the forum making random, silly posts not adding much content to the flow of the threads to boost her account post totals. GreatLakesGramma Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Yes, it just happens to be fun to talk about it. And to do a little teasing. This is a just for fun thread. Woody Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 An Amelia sighting ... Folks ... I just spotted Amelia posting in the Shout Box. Can we count that towards her total? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
GreatLakesGramma Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 No. The forum software doesn't count those. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
