Members phkrause Posted February 23, 2010 Members Posted February 23, 2010 Of all the tax places to go that is one I would not go to or recommend to my worst enemy. I always have done my own taxes. The year before I got married my wife had her taxes done by them and we got a letter from the IRS saying she owed for that year. So I went to my father's tax guy and he said we had to pay and that H&R would not back up there work and never go to them. It cost me $25. bucks for him to tell me that. I have done my own taxes ever since. What loophole in their guarantee did they find in your wife's case? My mom charges less than half as much as Block, but she backs up her work. However, if the mistake is yours, ie, you did not give the all the information, nobody is going to back that up, including my mom. Once some guy came there and told Mom's employee that he had income he wasn't going to report. He wanted her to file a fraudulent return for him.
