Guest Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 My outside dog "Fluffy" is gone. DON'T CRY FOR ME WHEN I'M GONE Three score and ten are given to man, But ours is a much briefer span. So, though I give you all my heart, The time will come when we must part. But all around you, you will see, Creatures that speak to you of me; A tired horse, a hunted thing, A sparrow with a broken wing ... Pity - and help (I know you will) And somehow, I will be with you still; And I shall know, although I'm gone, The love I gave you lingers on. --- (Author unknown) --- Quote
Kountzer Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I have an outside dog that I am close to. His name is Levi, and we've had him since 1999. I got him at an animal shelter. He is aggressive and a great guard dog. He howls better than a wolf, lol. That dog knows my daily routine better than I do. Liz Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Fluffy reminds me of the dog my grandparents had when I was little, his name was Tiger. Fluffy looks like he was happy, sorry he is gone. I love that poem. ((((Richard)))) Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Administrators Gail Posted February 23, 2010 Administrators Posted February 23, 2010 I really like that poem, too! I'm sorry to hear of Fluffy's disappearance, Richard! How is Mr. Murphy doing with it? Does he sense that something is not the same? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Dottie Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I so sorry your dog is gone. Hold old was (s)he? What breed? Or just a Heinz 57? Am I missing something? Did your pup disappear or die? I really love having a dog. There's been one in my house ever since I was born. I'd really miss it if I had none. I hope Mr. Murphy doesn't miss he® too much. Quote
Guest Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Yes Fluffy was a mutt. I think she was here for about ten years. She was Mr. Murphy's girlfriend, but it was kinda like a bad joke on him, because she had been fixed. But he liked her anyway. She disappeared about two and a half weeks ago, so I don't think she is coming back. And yes Gail, Mr. Murphy misses her when he's out in his pen. She used to stay right there with him on the other side of the fence. Quote

I guess Richard its time for a new companion for Mr. Murphy. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Guest Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 THE DOGS WHO HAVE SHARED OUR LIVES The dogs who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still make us think we hear a barking at the door. Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be, And, sometime, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them... and always will. ---Linda Barnes --- Quote
