The Kingdom of God

Did you just make this up, I have never seen where God uses grace or glory when referring to His kingdom. I have seen glory/glorious used as a adjective, but not as a noun.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

The kingdoms of this world have not yet become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. Do not deceive yourself.

Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Make no mistake, this has not happened yet.

Were did we get the idea of God's "kingdom"?

From what i understand we got it when Israel begged God to give them a King and a kingdom like their neighbors and God gave in and let them have it.

Is that what God intended? I don't remember reading or hearing that Jesus went around calling God,His majesty in Heaven.

Did Hear Him call God His Father though and And God The Father called Jesus His Son.

Sounds and will probably look more like a Family in Heaven.

We are called Their Children or The Church as a Whole is called the Bride. and not Their subjects.

So why again do we still say the "Kingdom of Heaven" again and still?

Matthew 25:1 begins with "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like....

Well yep that could do it but i would say they were just saying what people had come to believe since God let Israel do the kingdom thing,the idea has become so entrenched in peoples minds for example like keeping sunday as the Sabbath.

I don't know why this kingdom of God troubles you, but here are two of many proofs.

Exodus 19:6 NAS

and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel."

1 Samuel 8:7 NAS

The LORD said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.

The Lord here says that He is their King and they have rejected Him, their King, and want a human king. The children of Israel became a kingdom when they were led out of Egypt. The children of Israel were given two opportunities to be the holy nation/kingdom of God, they failed both times. In Matthew 25:1 the Son of God tells His disciples that in the future a group of people (called bridesmaids/virgins) will go out to meet the Bridegroom, He calls these bridesmaids "the kingdom of heaven". This prophecy appears to have had it's fulfillment on October 22, 1844.

LOl well guess thats what i get for reading the KJV on Samuel 8:7 on that. and even with that in there i get from the rest of the context, they are rushing of to worship other gods by asking for a king.

So a kingdom of God makes no good sense to me, yet if that is what a person needs to have trust in God then I'm all for it

What I see:

1. It has no sense of personality, and God is definitely a people person :)and doesn't Jesus want us to be like Him and The Father and Holy Spirit?

2. Trying to explain that the Kingdom of God is not like the Kingdoms of earth, While very true doesn't really mesh well i think because when describing Gods "kingdom" it doesn't in any way that i see sound like any kind of kingdom that anyone would be familiar with as a kingdom, so why confuse them with calling it a kingdom?

3. Were supposed to be spreading the Good News about God not the Good News about the Kingdom of God. and while we should teach on Gods Government which is based on the principles of Love because He is Love,Which makes more sense? Based on what we know of God as a Person? Family or a Kingdom.

Just a paradigm shift that i am thinking about (ok you caught me,that i am writing about also )

God is preparing for war (great tribulation), this war is not fought with guns, bombs or chemicals, it is for the souls of mankind. The weapons used in this war are words, words of truth against lies. In order to fight this war God needs a kingdom of truth and that is what He is preparing right now. The kingdom of God/truth/righteousness against the kingdom of Satan/lies/unrighteousness. The outcome for the righteous is eternal life. The outcome for the wicked is eternal death. God does not want any to parish, but it is their choice.
