SivartM Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Cool. I always thought Alice Cooper was scary. I had no idea he was a Christian. Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
Moderators Kevin H Posted April 6, 2010 Moderators Posted April 6, 2010 What Stan posted did not show up on my computer this morning, but when Alice Cooper was young he used the scary hype to help build his popularity, as he got older and married I remember that there were articles in the press talking about how dispite his persona that he was living a very conservitive lifestyle off stage, a very deticated family man. I remember reading one article where they interviewed him and asked him about his conservative lifestyle and he said that he was raised in a Christian home, his father was a minister, and he concluded "I guess it's true, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Then a few years ago I heard on the radio that he had been finding that alcohol had been causing problems with his family, he had been able to give up drugs but not alcohol; and finally turned to Jesus and looked to God's streanth to gain victory over alcohol (I don't know how long ago he had done that, the radio was telling about a program he was preparing to help youth and it told about his conversion) Quote
Administrators Gail Posted April 6, 2010 Administrators Posted April 6, 2010 LOL I can't help but notice the likeness between him and Steve Carell of the Office... I grew up in the 70s, so of course I'm familiar with Alice Cooper. His real name is Vincent Furnier and I knew about his drinking problem. I'm watching this video and I'm saying to myself, Cold Ethel- I KNEW it wasn't a good idea!!! (tic) But yes, later on I knew that he is a Christian because I have friends who golfed with him. He's an avid golfer as well. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Overaged Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Well; as one who used to party to his "music" back in the 70s, I had heard the odd rumor about him being a Christian, teaching Sunday School, etc. I had no idea if it was true or not. I tended not to think so because lines like "Dead babies don't take things off the shelves" kept coming back at me. But it is really "cool" to see that those rumors are true and that this fellow is hearing God call him. God pulled me out of the same kind of world that He is pulling Cooper out of, so I can see how amazing this man's testimony really is. Thanks for posting this Stan! I liked what Cooper said about the Bible: If it says it, then it must be so." Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
olger Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 “I used to celebrate moral decay, the decadence of it," he admitted in the KNAC.com interview. "I can look back on what I did then and what I'm doing now and they're two different things. But at the time I was the poster boy for moral decay, you know. So yeah, I've got a lot to be forgiven for...out of ignorance, I thought I was doing the right thing. I was totally in agreement that every guy should sleep with every girl and drink as much as they can. I don't believe that now. I don't believe in it, because I see how destructive it is." “Spiritual awakening is happening around the world, Cooper believes. "It's obvious humanity is craving for answers directly born of awareness," he said. "That's the healthiest thing I've seen in a long time because there is something better and everybody's gotta find it in their own way. People aren't feeling fulfilled by how many cars they own or the size of their stock portfolio. Even the addicts are saying, 'It doesn't matter how many drugs I take, I'm not fulfilled. This isn't satisfying.' There's a spiritual hunger going on. Everybody feels it. If you don't feel it now, you will. Trust me. You will" (Alice Cooper). Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

I agree with AC, and its only going to get worse and people will hunger more and more till they rise up and have our government fix this with a law for worshiping. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
