Moderators John317 Posted April 6, 2010 Moderators Posted April 6, 2010 If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test! If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn’t buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed. If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone. If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect. If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him. If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down. If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!) If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his. If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended". Let us know what you think. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

karl Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended". OK, do you agree there's lots of truth here? Let us know what you think. I don't like it. Doesn't get to the heart of it. Conservatives want a smaller, less intrusive government. Allow people to do what they want as long as it’s within the law. This includes keeping their income, if they so choose, rather than being forced to share it. On the other hand, liberals want increased taxes, especially on those with higher incomes and they want to give money to those with smaller incomes. They hope to tax and spend the country into prosperity Conservatives believe that we should live in a color blind society where every individual is judged on the content of his character and the merits of his actions. On the other hand, liberals believe that it's ok to discriminate based on race as long as the discrimination is against whites/wealthy people and primarily benefits minority groups/poor people. Conservatives are capitalists and believe that entrepreneurs who develop wealth through their own efforts are good for the country and shouldn't be punished for being successful. Liberals are socialists who view successful business owners as people who cheated the system somehow or just got lucky. That's why they don't respect high achievers and see them as piggy banks for their programs. Conservatives believe that government, by its very nature, tends to be inefficient, incompetent, wasteful, and power hungry. That's why we believe that the government that governs least, governs best. Liberals think that the solution to every problem is another government program. Even when those new programs create new problems, often worse than the ones that were being fixed in the first place, the solution is always....you guessed it, another government program or the expansion of an existing one. Conservatives tend to be patriotic, believe that America is a great nation, and are primarily interested in looking out for the good of the country. That's why we believe in "American exceptionalism" and "America first." Liberals tend to be internationalists who are more concerned about what Europeans think of us and staying in the good graces of the corrupt bureaucrats who control the UN than looking out for the best interests of this nation. Moderators John317 Posted April 6, 2010 Author Moderators Posted April 6, 2010 Hey Laz, I don't mean it to be taken seriously. That's why I say "for fun." I thought it was humorous. My brother sent it to me. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Moderators lazarus Posted April 7, 2010 Moderators Posted April 7, 2010 John, I guess I should have put a smiley too, I wasn't that serious either. The scary thing is that Karl is dead serious! :) Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. karl Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 John, I guess I should have put a smiley too, I wasn't that serious either. The scary thing is that Karl is dead serious! Yes, be scared. If only we can keep before the people the profligacy and outright disdain of this administration for the will of the people, we might have a return to the conservative principles I have outlined above. The ultimate would be for this country to take back our banking system which we gave to the Fed in 1913. Quote
