If I believe all these things I would surrender my life to such a God, wouldn't I?

My sentiments exactly, Shane. I'll be glad and gratified to give you a heavenly bear hug when we meet where heavenly hugs are welcomed. God bless.

LIFEHISCOST

THAT is a very good list to live by or ask

the HOLY SPIRIT into your live to live by

thank you for posting

dgrimm60

Haven't "seen" you for awhile, dgrimm60. Glad to see you posting again. I believe you did give us fair warning and I suppose that reason for not posting for awhile has now changed.

As to your comments, praise the Lord!! It's all in the Book and as you mentioned, through the Holy Spirit.

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” "

Luke 11:13 NKJV

Hope your day proves to be a blessing.

Is there a difference between living a "successful Christ life" and overcoming sin and becoming righteous?

I wonder how many who believe the points you wrote for having a "successful Christ life" will be the ones who Jesus stops at the door and tells them that He does not know them? I can just hear them now; "WHAT? Isn't God love and faithful? Didn't I ask for the Holy Spirit? How come you won't intercede for me? Come on, didn't you hear me say that I love you--and can't you show a little grace for me? After all, didn't you die so that your bood covers up my dirty rags?

As to the last paragraph I would venture to say after these scriptures are no longer valid.

"“Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake (for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this temple, hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the LORD toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name, then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

“When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near; yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’;

and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name: then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause"1 Kings 8:41-49 NKJV Emph mine

parenthesis theirs LHC

"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

John 10:16 KJV

And for those who do not believe these promises are for them,

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Galatians 3:29 KJV

"“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."Acts 16:30-32 NKJV

"For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe."1 Thessalonians 2:13 NKJV

"The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved."

"For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”"Romans 10:11-13 NKJV

Be careful now, when you wrote; "I would venture to say these scriptures are no longer valid.." some folks might get down right mean and nasty with you for saying such a thing. But I applaud you for writing that and for the rest of your post.

Thank you for the affirmation. I would like to suggest the time is close when this below will take place when any who tell the truth as it is in Jesus, will suffer, whether or not it is a matter of individual interpretation.

"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. "

2 Timothy 3:12 NKJV

"And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you." 1 or 4:12-14 NKJV

Notice one word was left out of the quote you referred to, of which I should have originally put a comma just before the word "after",so it would have been more clear. That would have made it "what it would be,if", instead of sounding like a fact.

"Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. "

1 Corinthians 4:5 NKJV

You are right on and I agree. Yes, I could see what you wrote and I agree it would be better to add the 'if' and then people may not throw stones at you. But the thing is, Satan knows those who are attempting to bring people to righteousness and just may come down on you like a ton of bricks! Happy Sabbath!
