Woody Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hey Dgrimm and PK and others ... Remember when last year I was actually singing praises to Obama because he gave those of us on Social Security ... a $250 "stimulus" ? Well ... after doing the taxes this year ... we discovered that our tax refund will be a full $250 less than if he hadn't given that to us last year. For the 2009 tax year ... he's giving people an $800 stimulus. But those on Social Security and got the $250 last year ... will get $250 less this year. I now take back ALL of those nice things I stated about Obama. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
SivartM Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Okaaaay. That's not very nice. :( Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. Woody Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 Yeah. I figure he wanted to make himself look good by giving it to us last year and then taking it away this year. He thought we wouldn't notice ... HA HA Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

"Stimulus." Remember that the government doesn't create any wealth - it doesn't make a dime. First it has to steal what it redistributes. If the government gives anybody anything it is stolen goods. Woody Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 Wow!! Now I am even thinking LESS of Obama. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
SivartM Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Then again, there are probably people you have more reason to blame for this. He can't be singlehandedly responsible for everything... can he? bonnie Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Then again, there are probably people you have more reason to blame for this. He can't be singlehandedly responsible for everything... can he? The buck stops with Obama as it does with every president.Obama blames Bush for being singehandedly responsible. The decisions are now his and it is time he finds his big boy pants and quit blaming and start accepting responsibly for his own actions Obama was fully in favor of the wrong headed financial decisions Bush made. The only disagreement with Bush that I can find is the amount of money. To Obama it was not enough but he voted yes for all the spending, which means he was behind it. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Woody Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 WOODY WELL I guess OBAMA thought that last year was good for this year as well (hahaha hehehe hohoho) I also understand that OBAMA is not giving the people on S.S. not cost of living raise for this year and the next..... dgrimm60 That's exactly right. He took away our cost of living raise. I sincerely doubt those that voted for him last year ... would do so again. :( Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. My job performance was always at the top level. My boss was a conservative. Besides I loved my job and the people I worked with. The main reason I did not get a raise was because I stood up for those that wouldn't stand up for themselves. I think I've mentioned somewhere on this forum what happen, but to make a long story as short as I can. A few people in one department got raises and our department didn't, so we spoke up about it and were given a stupid comment. So I asked the others in the department what they would like to do about it. No one had any ideas so I said lets not do any overtime. No one was willing to do this so I went to management and told them I would not be working late anymore. Well 3 weeks went by and the jobs were piling up. One day the supervisor of the prepress came to me and said that management was going to give the evaluations so people could get there raises again. The next day I was asked to come upstairs to speak with the boss and his buddy. They gave me a song and a dance about what a bad person I was. But everybody got there raises except me. I never got another raise even though I produced the most work. I didn't really care, I worked for God and not them, and I told them that too. So unless you really know me, don't presume to tell me that I needed to look for another job or that I should re-evaluate my job performance, period. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. karl Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I'm not addressing your specific situation, pk. This is just a general piece of advice any job counselor ought to give anybody. If you don't receive a raise in a job for two years running, it is time to look for a new job or to reassess your own job performance. You reevaluated your situation and decided to stay. I'm OK with that. I'm just not OK with people accepting a dead-end situation without doing what they can about it. I've told my own employees to look for another job. Not because I wanted them to move on, but because I knew I was paying them well and I wanted them to find it out. I've told them, "One of two things will happen. Either you will find a better job and you can threaten me with leaving, or you will find out this is the best job around and you'll be happier with it. Either way, you win." Quote
