olger Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Anybody else suffering from pollen allergies? They seem real bad this year. Perhaps it is just me? Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
GreatLakesGramma Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Thankfully, not yet. Ragweed is the only problematic pollen for me, and it's not time for that yet. The big problem I foresee for me, with going outside, is that the factory farm is sending big tank loads of liquid manure our way, to fertilize the corn fields just down the road. I counted 4 of them yesterday, and I wasn't even where I could see them most of the day. In the past, I've counted as many as 7 in one day, and that was also when I wasn't where I could see them all day, so there were probably more. After a couple of weeks, the air will be so fouled by their fumes, it will be impossible to go outside, or leave the windows open, without getting sick. Thankfully, they will only fertilize for a short time this time of year, because they have to quit as soon as the corn starts coming up. After harvest, it will be much, much worse. They will keep it up for 2 or 3 months. I had a really bad feeling about it yesterday when I had my first sighting, while bringing in a load of laundry from the clothesline. I do NOT want my laundry smelling like THAT! I think maybe I need to make a stop at that farm and have a word with the manager. He goes to church with my parents, so I think he will be willing to do what he can. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Liz Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I have bad allergies year round, but last spring and this one, it turned into bronchitis and I have to have breathing treatments. Not fun at all. SivartM Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Mine started a few weeks ago. I just got back from a Pathfinder campout, and living outside only made my allergies worse. :( Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you.
