Miracle

We recently had a thread in which miracle eye-witnesses were asked to relate their experiences. I'm getting old and couldn't remember the title of the thread.

Well, I am chagrined to say that I WAS a witness to a miracle just a few years ago and had forgotten all about it.

My sons were attending academy about ninety miles south of where we live. They were at a little Adventist boarding school situated in the middle of 300 acres near Amity, Arkansas. One day we got a call to pray because a tornado was headed directly for the school. We and the school staff/students prayed for deliverance. And they were spared. The next day I went to see what had happened. The tornado had cut a swath of destruction (huge trees snapped off or torn up by the roots) a quarter mile wide which went straight at the school, stopped within 100 feet of the edge of the school property, lifted, and touched down within 100 feet of the other edge of the property traveling from southwest to northeast.

Amazing demonstration of God's power over nature.

Groovy. That sounds like the tornado at the Dicover the Power NAD camporee in 1999 (my sister went but I was too young). The tornado came up to the large campground, split in half, went around it, and came together on the other side.

These are genuine events witnessed by lots of people (I can get a confirmation from the principal of the academy if it will help.)

One could say that both of those occurrences were coincidences. And ask why God doesn't stop the myriad of other tornadoes.

A few years ago there was a rash of tornadoes in one day in my area. I saw houses that had been completely destroyed and met people whose family members had been killed. It was very sad. I can't help but wonder why the tornadoes didn't exhibit unusual behavior then.

Of course, one of the tornadoes deposited a living baby safely in a field. I think its family might have died, though.

Either way, I also wonder how the people in Oshkosh and Amity who actually were affected by the tornadoes felt while the tornadoes happily skipped over certain areas.
