Dottie Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 A friend of mine is sick and has been in the hospital for several weeks. She has pancreatitis, and the doctors don't know what caused it, and can't seem to be able to remedy it. It keeps getting worse and worse. A mutual friend let me know that the ill lady has had only about 2 cups of food in the last two weeks. She needs our prayers. Quote
SivartM Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I'm sorry, Dottie. That's terrible. I'll definitely pray for her. Why on earth did she only have 2 cups of food? Dottie Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 She had only 2 cups of food, because that is all that her stomach would take. She is "deathly" ill. Quote

Dottie Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 I got a message this morning from a mutual friend. She had been scheduled for surgery to get some fluid off the pancreas. "[she] was moved to a "regular" hospital room today. For those who haven't heard, she tells me they didn't have to cut her pancreas. I'm not sure on that one because [her] husband is the one who's drug free (she's been on morphine every 2-3 or 4 hours for 9 weeks) and [he] told me the other story. In any event, she's sounding so much better. Today they gave her juice and broth. That's a first in many weeks and a welcome to her. Praise God for this miracle healing." Quote

STILL THROWING UP (AS OF YESTERDAY) BUT THEY'VE DECIDED THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR THAT. SHE AND [her husband] CELEBRATED THEIR 42ND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON MONDAY AND SHE ATE 1/2 OF A BAKED POTATO! THANK YOU FOR YOUR MANY PRAYERS Quote

Overaged Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 That's great news! I've always thought it was better to be sick at home than in the hospital.
