Yes, of course it was benign. I do not attribute any evil intent to his question. Forgive me if that came across.

I am reminded of a family gathering where a male friend of one of the people asked me a Biblical question about cutting hair. I asked him to share with me the personnal struggle he wsa having with the issue. He immediately informed me that he was clear in his mind on the subject and that he was not having any struggle with the issue at all. I promptly informed him that I would not discuss it with him.

I personally value John and I have valued in the past much of what he has posted. Even when I disagree with him he brings up issues that are valid to consider. It really does not matter what I think. We are and should be a people of the Book. I do not have the time or energy to share my thinking on something that is as complex as this simply to share my thinking. John has asked his questions and stated his position many times. People have responded to him and generally been rejected. I do not have more to add to the discussion. The Holy Spirit can work to convict as the HS wills.

I will continue to read the posts and if I think appropriate add a coment or two.
