That was the stupid's video I've seen in a long time. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 6, 2010 Author Moderators Posted May 6, 2010 I laughed, thought it amusing, was not offended...we need to be able to poke fun at ourselves and not take opinions too seriously. It is one thing to laugh one oneself, it is another to laugh at another. In my opinon, the video made fun of others. Few would be surprised for me to say that I support women with the full ministeral role and function given to men and for ordination. But, I am convinced that honest people disagree with me--people who attempt to govern their lives by the Book. To me, the video goes well beyond the boundaries that I believe should be established in discussions of this sort. Quote Gregory

epaminondas Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Yes, quite stupid. Not even funny. His raising the point that Jesus first appeared to women is not relevant in this context. Jesus also appeared to men and told them to spread the message. Appearing to women does not translate to "ordain women as priests/pastors/ministers." The whole woman thing goes back to Genesis 3:16: To the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy childbearing, in pain thou shall bring forth children. And thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Of course, many women would rather go to hell than listen to a man. Show me one woman priest or elder in the Bible. Yes, I know, Deborah was a judge, but that has nothing to do with ordaining women. People might as well say because the queen of Sheba was a woman we should ordain women. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 25, 2010 Members Posted September 25, 2010 I thought it was funny! Some of you are reacting as if the speaker was serious! He reminds me of satire ala Andy Rooney. But then, I have a warped sense of humor....at least, so I am told... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Aliensanctuary Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I say, Arthurize the women to preach, and give them all batchelor buttons to wear to show that they care about the batchelors. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451
