Raphael Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Are dramas allowed in SDA mainstream churches? Please be reminded that dramas are exactly like movies that essential need music to bring to life its scenes.. Scenes of violence... say when Christ was whipped, beaten and spat on, something like Mel Gibson's Passion of Christ would naturally needed adrenalin beating music & tempo. While at the same time, many folks are prejudiced against such musical upheaval in guard of the sacredness of the church. Where does the line begin & end? Note: Please help... It's for church, this 15th of May.. I need its music.. I hope it won't be too late.. Could some help me with a link to a marvelous drama some time ago? It was wordless and the story was about God's love affair with humankind. The drama began with God's role played by a man in a white robe walking and slowly dancing with a girl, giving pantomime movements of water for drinking & food and in return the girl made drinking and eating gestures then God waved His hand gesturing the scenes of all His creation.. Then Satan came in and separated the woman from God. God tried to get hold of the girl but was held back by Satan while the girl went along with Satan in curiosity (apparent innocence). Afterward, Satan's first accomplice in the role of a street woman came along and befriended the girl. the friendship ended because the girl became apparently sick of the relation. Next came the second accomplice in the role of a drinker whose founded friendship with the girl also floundered because she got sickly drunk. Thirdly was the role of street thug who made friends with the girl and gave a knife as a gift to her. Later the thug wanted to show off his gun but simply sighting the gun, the girl freaked out in fear which ended the friendship. Then the girl became alone in obvious depression and tried to cut her wrist with the given knife.. suddenly she became aware of her plight and threw the knife away in shock & disgust.. afterward she tried to return to her first love (with God) but had to fight or struggle violently with the four devils. (When the girl started to try to return to God, God at the same time made pulling movements depicting that it was Him pulling the heart to return) After several struggles she was able to win against the three accomplices but still ended failing against Satan which made her give up in kneeling prostrate position as if total surrendering to God.. then God jumped in between the devils & the girl and the violent struggle change hands with God fighting violently the fight of the girl.. with finally a winning victory casting away the evil forces (in Superman like style) Then the first love returned with God wiping away the tears from the girls face and then showing around His creation, giving her food & drink and slow dancing, just like the first or opening scenes. Moderators Nan Posted May 8, 2010 Moderators Posted May 8, 2010 I have seen something very similar to this drama played out in my own church, but I do not know where it originated. (And the person who played the girl is currently studying overseas.) Quote
Moderators Nan Posted May 8, 2010 Moderators Posted May 8, 2010 Picture quality not brilliant but they give the general idea. I do not recall music being part of this drama, and there were no words. Quote
