Stan Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. oldsailor29 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Our missions are gifts, our talents are gifts, and gifts of the spirit are gifts. And these are all different gifts. A lot of folks are convinced that they are all the same. Our missions are what the Lord has given us to do, our jobs. Our talents are those things at which we excel, things we can do better than most others. Spiritual gifts are our abilities given to us by God to perform miracles, like healing with a touch or a prayer, rebuking devils, controlling the weather, receiving visions from God, Preaching and teaching through the power of the Holy Spirit. These spiritual gifts are many times more powerful than our talents and our jobs. As an example, I like to think of Samson. When the Holy Spirit came upon him he had the gift of power. He ripped apart a lion as easily as the lion could rip apart a baby goat, effortlessly. And He brought down a great building. Demolition experts might know how much power that would take. The power of the Holy Spirit cannot be measured. Quote Prs God, frm whm blssngs flw http://www.zoelifestyle.com/jmccall
