Guest Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Kanjorksi: Fannie, Freddie Too Complicated to Fix RUSH: Now, one of the saddest parts of the banking reform bill is that the Senate just couldn't figure out how to deal with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; just the two big, gigantic problems, and they couldn't figure out how to deal with that. They know how to deal with Goldman Sachs; they know how to deal with Wall Street. They just can't figure out how to deal with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In fact, Representative Paul Kanjorski (Democrat-Pennsylvania) says it's "too complicated" to figure those two out. He actually said it's too complicated to figure out Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac. Now, since when have we accepted that a government sponsored program is too complicated to be fixed? Too complicated for our elected officials to figure out, with all the resources and information available to them from private -- and, yes, the public -- sector? Too complicated to figure out? It's easy to figure out! Now, this is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned in creating the greatest government designed in the history of man. This is a long way from limited government. We got two runaway mortgage agencies here and the Democrats say, "It's too complicated figure 'em out." Quote
karl Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Too big to fail. Too complicated to fix. Translation: "We don't want to do anything useful. We just want to throw taxpayer money at it and feign ignorance of any kind of fiscal responsibility." Quote
