Sestak, a retired Navy vice admiral who has represented a suburban Philadelphia district since 2007, accused Specter of switching parties to save his job. He said Specter couldn't be trusted to support Democratic Party values. In the days before the primary, Specter and Sestak also argued over who had the best chance of beating Toomey in the fall. Specter leaned heavily on Obama's endorsement, repeatedly citing a television ad that used footage from a September rally in Philadelphia at which Obama spoke and get-out-the-vote efforts by the key unions backing him. I agree with you, Shane. I liked him for a while as a Republican but that was during the Clinton years, and I really didn't know him that well. He chose the wrong time to become a Democrat. Can you believe I voted for Carter in '76, Mondale in 84, and for Dukakis in 88?!! Spector was not a turn coat when he "switched sides".He was always a democrat liberal and has finally stood up and admitted it. Bad timing for him as the love affair with the Obama administration. Some people feel this need for government to always be doing something. Even with the economy tanking world wide let's spend more and more.The way out of a overdrawn checking account is to write more bad checks.
