Guest Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Bono Writes Lewinsky to Bill Clinton in TIME Magazine RUSH: Now, TIME Magazine has their 100 most influential people of the year. I was on the list last year. I didn't go to their party, just like I'm not going to go to the White House Correspondents Dinner tomorrow night. I don't go to these things because why am I going to go pal around with a bunch of people I know don't like me? Why am I going to hang around with a bunch of people who, in fact, I know hate me? Why do this? And why go to an event and pretend that we're all good buddies for a couple hours and then get up the next morning and start savaging each other again, as though previous savaging hasn't happened? Why do I want to hang around with a bunch of people who have called me racist, who lied about me during that St. Louis Rams thing, why do I want to hang around with people like that? It's the same thing with the TIME Magazine thing. I mean, they always have a couple token conservatives in there, and this year it's Beck. Beck is I think number 76 in the top 100. Anyway, Bill Clinton is at number one in American heroes on this list. And they always have other people write little blurbs, like Beck wrote about me last year. And Bono writes about Bill Clinton this year. Listen to this. "There are professors who pretend to be populists and populists who pretend to be professors, but there have never been a head and heart so perfectly matched as the pair within William Jefferson Clinton. It's an impossible equilibrium. Wonky intellectual meets oh-hell card player, oxygen and hydrogen." Now, get this next sentence, and I defy anybody to tell me what this means. "He defies the laws of physics as his daily exercise, but without him the universe just wouldn't be as friendly to humans." I'll read that to you again. Bono, the new Monica Lewinsky, 'cause I mean this, folks, this is Lewinsky of the first order here. I mean Bono wants something here. "Bill Clinton defies the laws of physics as his daily exercise, but without him the universe just wouldn't be as friendly to humans." Bono, just don't wear a blue dress to the party. Quote
