bonnie Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 It would be interesting if the governor of Arizona would sponser a immigration law exactly mirroring that of Mexico.Obama would almost certainly have to give approval if it copied those of the corrupt Mexican government. Cheeky Felipe J. Robert Smith Seems that Barack Obama doesn't have a monopoly on audacity. Mexico's president, Felipe Calderon, is full of it too. Calderon mounted a podium on the White House lawn to take a swipe or two at Arizona's new illegals law. And that's plain cheeky, given that Mexico is the prime source of the illegals problem in the United States. But as Mr. Obama and liberals might say, why quibble? In all the reporting about the illegals problem, with all the ink, electronic and otherwise, being spent on Arizona's law, little if any is spent on the colossal failure Mexico is, and how our southern neighbor's colossal failure has driven its poor into the United States looking for the American Dream (or a welfare state version thereof). Mexico's failures are too many to catalogue in this space. But those failures can be summed up with these words: "Corruption, Crime, Incompetence and Statism." CCIS doesn't make for much of an acronym, but it makes for what ails Mexico. Perhaps all those sharp, aggressive editors and news directors can find the money in their crimped budgets to send reporters south of the border to do a little old fashion shoe-leather reporting. It's time the spotlight is turned on Mexico, where CCIS has made lives so wretched that millions of Mexicans often risk life and limb to head north into the United States. Shame on Calderon's moral bankruptcy. Shame on Mexico. P Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Where is our president or don't we have one that cares as much about the US as he does the corrupt mexican leader and the mexican people? Mexican state officials whine about Arizona immigration law Greg Halvorson You can't make this up. On the heels of Eric Holder condemning Arizona's SB 1070, which he HASN'T READ, comes a verbal lambasting by Sonoran officials. A delegation from the border state recently traveled to Tucson where, whining (in Spanish), they explained that the law "will have devastating consequences." Returning countrymen will apparently burden schools, compete for jobs, stress social services, and cease the practice of sending dinero across the border to benefit their economy. This from representative Leticia Amarano-Gamez (in Spanish): "How can they pass a law like this? There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona. Mexico is not prepared for the tremendous problems it will have as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and sending money to their families return to hometowns without jobs. We are one family, socially and economically," she said of the people who reside in Arizona and her state. She is nuts. We are not "one family." To be outraged that their own citizens will cease to burden their neighbor and, in turn, transfer those burdens to themselves, is muy loco. How do you say, "What's good for the goose is good for the gander" in Spanish? It's high time we redefined "logic" and did so in American terms. karl Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 The glaring facet of this outrage that bugs me most is the standing ovation Calderon got from the Libs in Congress when he lambasted our immigration laws. It seems more and more clear all the time that liberals hate America and are willing to do just about ANYTHING to subvert it. I'm ready for a true conservative revolution. Quote
